From the moment I parked for a 2-night stay, the Colonial's Bnb husband and wife team worked together, seamlessly going out of their way to make my stay relaxing and enjoyable: Just 2 examples - prepared a very delicious breakfast of my choice at the time I wished; escorted me to a trail-end when I was unsure of the turning, THANKS!

From the moment we pulled up to the grand entrance, we knew we made the right choice. I was attending my brother's wedding nearby and decided to make a weekend of it. Flerida and Michael are incredible hosts. Every night, they asked what we wanted for breakfast the next morning. I could have asked for fried kangaroo and gotten it! I had lovely conversations with Flerida in the mornings. My guy was going through a difficult time and this was the perfect getaway. Rosa

I stayed in order to attend an anniversary party in a nearby town. The owners were delightful, attentive, concerned, and made a great breakfast. The house and grounds are beautiful. The room was very nice; accept that this is a 100 plus year old house with the charm, details and quirks that come with the age. The room I had came with a close-to-period bathroom but the shower was great and everything worked perfectly. The stairs to the bedroom were somewhat steep (not handicap accessible) but Flerida kindly took my too-heavy bag up for me, a boon for my aging knees). My room had an air conditioner, which was really important as it was hot. And the bed was great! I enjoyed my stay tremendously and wish I had been able to stay longer.

The feature of this hotel that really stands out are the owners; they were there to greet us late the night of our arrival, took our breakfast orders the night before and prepared them deliciously, nutritiously, and on time, and made our stay extremely warm and hospitable. It's a quiet, comfortable home in a beautiful upstate New York setting, only 45 minutes from the Baseball Hall of Fame, near good restaurants. The wifi and the TV were great and the shower and bath facilities were great. I have no complaints and would recommend this B&B without hesitation.

What can we say? Words really cannot describe how much Flerida, Michael and their son Dominick went so far above and beyond the call making us feel welcome, at home and part of their family during our stays, during our visits and during our conversations. We have stayed at The Colonial both in the Winter and the Summer and visited several times during other seasons as we were preparing for our wedding very close by in Stamford. Flerida and Michael were very helpful in so many ways with local advice, guidance and information for us for our wedding planning. Honestly, we couldn't have done it and it wouldn't have been the same without them. We are so grateful!!! When we stayed in the Winter it was so comfy and cozy inside as outside was an unbelievably gorgeous Winter wonderland. Let's be honest, the place is a grand estate with an incredible huge back space behind the house which could be out of a movie. In the Summer we booked the whole place for my Wife and I and our Wedding party to stay during the time of our Wedding. It was the perfect place to get ready for our wedding and relax before and after. We are so very thankful for the way we were taken with open arms into their family. Not only were they amazing hosts we feel like we have forged life long friendships with them which a rare and beautiful thing to which we are so grateful. The rooms are cozy and impeccably clean, the beds are so very comfy and all of the amenities are provided including free-wifi and flat screen with cable TV. The common spaces are hardly common. The living room has a beautiful fireplace and the family room has large, comfy chairs to sink into. The Colonial B&B of Stamford's architecture harckens back to the days of an early 1900s mansion with a huge grounds including a beautifully manicured back garden grounds with a gazebo where you can even have your dinner or breakfast brought out to you. Oh, and everything everyone in other reviews said about the food is absolutely true. So delicious and more than just simple fair, honestly restaurant quality but better because it is made with love. In fact, there is also a vegetable garden where they harvest what they use in the food they make for you. I know I sound like I am gushing but its because it is all true. Honestly, I can't say enough and pictures hardly do it justice, it is just something you need to experience in person for yourself. All I can say is relax and enjoy yourself in the loving arms of the Queen of the Catskills The Colonial B&B of Stamford!!! We cannot wait and are so excited for our eminent return!!! xoxoxo
